State of the Economy

Every second Indian I meet now is either laid off from work, has been given notice of an impending lay off or is in constant fear of losing their job. So yes, the above comic strip brings some humor into these grim times.  Economy across the globe is undergoing a metamorphosis and though the labor pains are intense, I believe this is teaching everyone the basic law of nature – impermanence. The days of job security, being long years at one employer and golden watch at the end of retirement are gone.

This is just a  Dilbert comic strip so I don’t want to sound like a  glum economics professor. I will leave that for smarter people like Amartya Sen and Paul Krugman to analyze.  Leave me a comment and let me know how this economy has touched you.
